Why stay in Korpo?
Korpo suits travellers on the Archipelago Trail by bike or car — a natural overnight stop between Nagu and Houtskär. The area is quieter than Nagu and has more of a village character. From Galtby harbour you can reach the southern outer archipelago and the Åland route.
Where in the area should you look for a place to stay?
Places to stay are found in Korpo centre (Verkan) and near Galtby harbour. In the countryside and northern part of the island there are summer cottages. The area is smaller than Nagu, so choose based on what connections you need.
How to get to Korpo?
From Nagu, the Pärnäs–Retais ferry runs free of charge (Finferries), crossing takes about 7 min. From Nagu centre to Pärnäs about 15–20 min by car. Queues can occur on summer weekends.
What is nearby?
From Galtby, connection ships to the outer archipelago and the southern Åland route (Ålandstrafiken). The Korpo–Houtskär ferry to Kittuis. Continue the Archipelago Trail northwards.
